About Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.
What is Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce?
Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce is the leading business support organisation for companies across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. We represent over 1,200 local businesses, from sole traders to large employers, and provide networking, training, expert advice, international trade services and a powerful voice on the issues that matter to the regional economy. As an accredited member of the British Chambers of Commerce network, we connect Staffordshire businesses to national influence and globally recognised services.
What does a Chamber of Commerce actually do?
A Chamber of Commerce supports local businesses through networking, training, advice, advocacy and trade services. At Staffordshire Chambers we run hundreds of events a year, issue official export documentation, provide free legal, HR, tax and health & safety advice, deliver business support and grants signposting, and lobby on behalf of Staffordshire businesses with local and national government.
Is Staffordshire Chambers accredited by the British Chambers of Commerce?
Yes. Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce is a fully accredited member of the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) network, which means we meet the highest national standards for member service, governance and impact. Accreditation also unlocks BCC-backed services such as Quest (free HR, legal, tax and H&S advice) and official export documentation that's recognised worldwide.
Where is Staffordshire Chambers based?
Our main office and Members Lounge are located in Stoke-on-Trent, and our services cover the whole of Staffordshire — including Stafford, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cannock, Lichfield, Tamworth, Burton, Leek and the Staffordshire Moorlands. You can visit us Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, or call 01782 202 222.
How long has Staffordshire Chambers been supporting businesses?
Staffordshire Chambers has been supporting businesses in the region for over 200 years, making us one of the most established business membership organisations in the county. Our heritage gives us deep relationships with local employers, education providers, councils and government — relationships that benefit every member.
Chamber Membership.
What are the benefits of Chamber of Commerce membership?
Chamber membership gives your business free, unlimited access to HR, legal, tax and health & safety advice through Quest; discounted official export documentation including Certificates of Origin and ATA Carnets; over 200 networking and training events a year; free use of the Members Lounge in Stoke-on-Trent; a searchable profile in the online Members Directory; the ability to share member-to-member offers and discounts; a dedicated account manager; and a strong collective voice lobbying on the issues that affect Staffordshire businesses.
Why should my business join Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce?
Most businesses join because they want to grow — more contacts, more visibility, more knowledge and more support. Chamber membership puts you in front of over 1,200 local businesses through events and the Members Directory, gives you access to expert advice that would otherwise cost thousands in retainer fees, and connects you to the support, grants and skills programmes available across Staffordshire. It's also a clear signal to clients and prospects that you're an established, credible part of the Staffordshire business community.
How much does Staffordshire Chambers membership cost?
Membership is priced on a tiered basis according to the size of your organisation, so small businesses and sole traders pay significantly less than large employers. For a tailored quote, email membership@staffordshirechambers.co.uk or call 01782 202 222 — the membership team will walk you through the options and recommend the right tier for you.
Is Chamber membership tax deductible?
Yes. Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce membership is generally an allowable business expense in the UK, meaning the cost can be offset against your business's taxable profits. We recommend confirming with your accountant, as individual tax circumstances vary.
How long does Chamber membership last?
Chamber membership runs on an annual subscription, renewable each year. You'll receive a renewal reminder ahead of your anniversary date, and the membership team is on hand throughout the year to make sure you're getting the most from your benefits.
Who can join Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce?
Membership is open to any business or organisation trading in or with Staffordshire — including sole traders, start-ups, SMEs, large employers, charities, social enterprises, education providers and public sector partners. We welcome members from every sector, including manufacturing, professional services, hospitality, retail, construction, digital and technology, healthcare, and the creative industries.
Is Chamber membership worth it for small businesses?
Yes — small businesses and start-ups often see the strongest return on Chamber membership. The free HR, legal, tax and H&S advice through Quest alone can save thousands of pounds compared to private retainers. Networking events, member-to-member offers and your profile in the Members Directory help small firms win local work they wouldn't otherwise reach, and your account manager can introduce you to other members directly.
Can I try the Chamber before joining?
Yes. Non-members are welcome at many of our events (often at a non-member rate), which is the best way to experience the Chamber community before committing. You can also book a no-obligation conversation with the membership team to walk through the benefits and meet your potential account manager — email membership@staffordshirechambers.co.uk or call 01782 202 222.
