The Stoke based Gingerbread Centre (www.gingerbreadcentre.co.uk) supports homeless families from across the area regardless as to how they have become homeless. Homelessness doesn’t discriminate, it can happen to anybody. They aim to keep the family together and avoid children going into temporary care.
The Centre provides short-term accommodation, personal development, training, advice and encouragement, so that families can regain their independence.
They expect to be full over the Christmas period with 33 families, including 41 children, in their supported accommodation and staff will be on hand throughout the holiday period to ensure that everybody has the best time that they can.
Their Christmas Appeal (Message on a Bauble) launches on 11th December and provides a great opportunity to spread some cheer in these challenging times, while helping local homeless families at the same time.
