During the last decade, the term ‘Artificial Intelligence’ or AI, has entered our everyday vocabulary.
A concept that seemed to exist in the far distant future is now playing a key role in what we do. AI relates to the application and use of intelligent technologies in our day to day lives. It has helped to automate and simplify tasks, develop insights and identify trends and results from vast realms of data, as well as supporting business decision making.
In the business world, AI is guiding businesses to become more efficient and agile in day to day operations. AI adoption is growing as more businesses see the benefits it can bring. These include improvements to efficiency and accuracy. AI has the potential to allow business to drive up operations. Research suggests that early adopters of AI can often gain a real and competitive advantage over their rivals.
Critics of AI will point to ethical concerns over the risk to the very jobs we perform. Businesses who use AI must be aware of the importance of securely managing data (particularly customer data), when using AI. Initial outlay in the investment needed to implement AI can be relatively expensive.
Whatever your views, AI is no longer seen as optional for businesses who want to prosper in a competitive marketplace. Through greater understanding of both the potential and the challenges of AI, business leaders can look to reap the AI advantage and drive future growth, so why not find out for yourself?

Later in the year, we are planning to deliver an AI themed “show and tell” format event, with practical demonstrations of the use of AI in the workplace. If you would like to help shape the format of this event, then we would be delighted to get you on board as a member of our Artificial Intelligence Working Group (AIWG).
Once the event has taken place, the role of our AIWG will help to shape and influence our policy and lobbying activity in the area of AI. If this may be of interest, we would love to hear from you. Our AIWG will meet on Friday 13th June at 10AM and if you would like to join, please send me an e-mail:
