Teapot Tour ‘Changing Landscapes’

Following the success of our previous events, we are thrilled to announce the next installment in our popular Teapot Tour series. This time, the tour will showcase the rich heritage hidden in the Etruria Valley, culminating in an exclusive tour of the Top Bridge Works to explore its recent developments.
This event is brought to you in partnership with Simon Davies, CEO of Protectapet, and renowned regeneration campaigner.
The Teapot Tour offers a unique blend of history, innovation, and community spirit. Attendees will embark on a picturesque journey around Festival Park’s green space and the Trent Mersey Canal, soaking in the heritage details that make this area so special. Jenna Goodwin (aka The Red Haired Stokie) will be back with her innovative QR cod assisted walk where she shares fascinating stories and historical insights about this remarkable area and its surroundings.
Itinerary:
· Short film from Ray Johnson MBE and presentation from Jane Smith at the Chamber of Commerce
- 3-mile walk exploring rewilded areas of Festival Park, Etruria Valley and Middleport: We’ll explore how this landscape has dramatically changed from Industrial landscape to a modern business park with greenspace. We will be hunting for some lost relics from the 1986 Garden Festival hidden at the back of Festival Park.
- Top Bridge Works Tour: Get an exclusive look at the recent developments of the Top Bridge Works and explore the historic back alley of this iconic former teapot factory dating back to 1780.
- Brew and Keynote speakers at Cherished Chimneys in Longport: The tour will conclude at Cherished Chimneys, where participants can grab a brew and listen to the final 2 talks of the event.
Guest Speakers:
We are honored to have a lineup of distinguished guest speakers who will share their insights and expertise:
- Ray Johnson MBE, Staffordshire Film Archive: Ray will delve into the rich history captured in the Staffordshire Film Archive, offering a visual journey through time.
- Jane Smith, Rewilding Expert: Jane will share her knowledge on rewilding efforts and the importance of preserving natural habitats, providing a forward-looking perspective on environmental conservation.
- Lance Bates, Artist, owner of Cherished Chimneys: Lance will share some insights into the local chimney pot manufacturing history.
- Martin Stockley, Regeneration Expert: Martin brings a wealth of experience from his successful regeneration projects in Manchester and his international work in Moscow. He will discuss his vision for sustainable development and the importance of design quality, drawing from his extensive involvement with HS2.
