Fenns, one of Staffordshire’s longest-standing businesses, has been named a finalist for the Employer of the Year Award at the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards 2025. This award, sponsored by Ironmarket Wealth, recognises organisations that demonstrate outstanding commitment to creating a positive and high-performing workplace.
With nearly 150 years of heritage, Fenns has grown from a traditional printer into a leading workplace supplies provider, offering everything from branded workwear and office furniture to IT solutions and recycling services.
Fenns’ commitment to employee learning is clear, with staff undertaking apprenticeships, CIPD, and CIPS qualifications, supported by internal mentoring. Fenns is also committed to supporting employee well-being, with initiatives like virtual walking challenges, daily gratitude sharing, healthy recipe swaps. In the 2024 staff survey, every employee reported feeling valued and supported, with stress levels significantly reduced.
Through the Fenn Foundation, Fenns raised over £6,500 in the last year for local charities, with employees volunteering their time in the community. Fenns actively promotes inclusion by employing individuals with Down syndrome and care leavers, supporting the Armed Forces and foster communities, and offering graduate and apprenticeship opportunities to help develop future leaders.
Sustainability is a core focus, with Gold accreditation from the Weaver programme recognising Fenns’ efforts in cutting carbon, reducing waste, and embedding environmentally responsible practices throughout the business.
