Fenn 1875, trading as JG Fenn, is proud to announce its selection as a finalist for the Sustainability & Environment Award at the 2025 Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards. Sponsored by GivEnergy, the award celebrates outstanding contributions to sustainability and environmental leadership across Staffordshire’s business community.
As a single-source workplace supplies provider, Fenn 1875 supports organisations in streamlining their procurement, reducing delivery frequency, and ultimately lowering their carbon footprint through smarter supply chain management.
Earlier this year, Fenn 1875 proudly earned the Weaver Gold Sustainability Accreditation — a mark of excellence awarded to businesses that go above and beyond in their environmental and social responsibility efforts.
The company has already transitioned 75% of its sales fleet to electric vehicles and aims to achieve a fully electric or hybrid fleet by 2027. At its headquarters, Fenn 1875 generates over 7,600 kWh of clean energy annually through its solar photovoltaic (PV) array, with any additional energy requirements fulfilled by renewable sources. Internally, all lighting has been upgraded to energy-efficient LEDs, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure has been installed on-site to encourage low-emission commuting.
Fenn 1875 also continues to tackle waste head-on, recycling 99.5% of all waste generated across its operations. Its waste strategy, underpinned by dedicated action plans, includes ambitious goals such as eliminating landfill contributions entirely by 2025. As part of its packaging reduction efforts, the company has worked closely with suppliers to switch from single-use plastic to bulk packaging, eliminating over 40,000 plastic packs in its workwear division alone.
In addition to its operational improvements, Fenn 1875 is deeply committed to helping customers reduce their Scope 3 emissions — the indirect emissions generated across their supply chains. By providing responsible product alternatives and emissions data reporting, Fenn 1875 enables other businesses to make informed procurement decisions that are both cost-effective and environmentally conscious.
