Leek Building Society backs Staffordshire Moorlands business community by becoming Chamber Patrons.

Leek Building Society has reinforced its commitment to the local business community by becoming a Patron of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce.

Headquartered in Leek, the Society joins the Chamber’s influential Patron network to help drive economic growth, strengthen financial resilience, and support communities across Staffordshire. The move reflects the organisation’s long-standing contribution to the local economy and its continued investment in the Staffordshire Moorlands business landscape.

Chris Plant, Interim Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “Leek Building Society has deep roots in the Staffordshire Moorlands and a clear understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing businesses in that part of the county.

“Their decision to become a Patron reflects our shared ambition to support sustainable growth and ensure the voice of Moorlands businesses is heard.

“With over 160 years of heritage and a values-based approach that benefits members, employees, and the local community, Leek Building Society is a responsible and highly valued partner for the Chamber. We’re looking forward to working closely with the team throughout 2026 and beyond.”

Andy Deeks, Chief Executive of Leek Building Society, said: “Becoming a Patron of the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce makes complete sense for Leek Building Society as a Staffordshire-based, purpose-led organisation.

“As part of our purpose to be a ‘force for good’ for the people and organisations in Leek and surrounding areas, we see this partnership as a way to strengthen links with businesses in our area and help them grow.

“The forthcoming launch of our business savings proposition was directly informed by Staffordshire businesses and I, together with my 200+ colleagues, look forward to finding more solutions and ways of engaging to help our region thrive. “

Founded in 1863, the mutual organisation plays a central role in the regional economy, providing savings and mortgage products to individuals, families, and businesses while maintaining a strong presence across the region.

This patronage is expected to enhance collaboration between the Chamber and businesses operating in the region. Patron status provides organisations with access to senior decision-makers, strategic insight, and policy discussions, helping to shape the conditions in which local firms operate.

Leek Building Society’s appointment comes as the Chamber continues to expand its Patron network, bringing together organisations from across Staffordshire’s diverse business landscape.
