Managing Director at Powell Design & Construction, Alexandra Powell, has been named a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the 2025 Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards, proudly sponsored by the University of Staffordshire.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognises individuals who have played a pivotal role in building or transforming a business. Alexandra Powell stands out as a dynamic leader who has turned her passion for architecture and innovation into a thriving business.

Since founding Powell Design & Construction in 2019, Alexandra has been the driving force behind its rapid growth and strong reputation. Based in Cheadle, Staffordshire, the company offers a full turnkey solution for bespoke residential extensions, renovations, and eco-home new builds. Under Alexandra’s leadership, the business has grown to a team of 15, serving clients across Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Shropshire with a consistent focus on quality, sustainability, and seamless project delivery.

In addition to her work in construction, Alexandra founded Powell Design Studio Ltd, which provides architectural design services focused on creativity, functionality, and energy efficiency. Alexandra also co-founded The Transformation Collective (TTC), an initiative designed to support fellow entrepreneurs in achieving both personal and professional growth. She also contributes to the academic field as a part-time lecturer at Staffordshire University, mentoring future architects to support the development of the next generation of design professionals.
