Jessica Hipwood of RAB Consultants has been named a finalist for the Learning and Development Award at the 2025 Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Business Awards, sponsored by Currie Young. The award recognises individuals who show outstanding dedication to professional development and make a significant impact within their organisation.
Joining RAB Consultants in 2020 during the national lockdown, Jessica quickly established herself as a key member of the engineering team. Now a project leader and mentor, she has contributed to major national infrastructure projects and played a pivotal role in expanding the department.
Her work has included developing quality assurance systems, mentoring new engineers, and leading sustainability-focused projects. She was also part of the team that won Project of the Year at the 2022 ICE West Midlands Awards.
Currently pursuing a first-class honours degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering, Jessica aims to achieve Chartered Engineer status by age 25. She also actively promotes engineering careers to young people through school outreach.
“Jessica’s talent, work ethic, and commitment to development are unmatched,” said Peter Batty, Director at RAB Consultants. “She’s transformed the way we approach engineering projects and processes, and she’s an inspiration to the next generation of professionals in our field.”
