Declan’s Policy Update: Lights, camera, AI ction!!.

Innovation was in the air as nearly 100 curious minds gathered at South Staffordshire College’s Net Zero Energy Centre to witness AI in action.

Last week, we delivered our inaugural Artificial Intelligence (AI) “show and tell” event, in partnership with South Staffordshire College.   Hosted at the College’s Net Zero Energy Centre, almost 100 delegates joined us for a glimpse into the future.

The room positively crackled with curiosity, collaboration and creativity as members from across industries gathered to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming the way we work, communicate, and innovate.

The event featured live demonstrations and informative updates from local businesses already leveraging AI in areas like customer service, marketing, automation and data analysis.

One of the highlights was a live demo of generative AI tools, where participants saw how quickly content, images, and even code could be created with just a few prompts.

The event also served as a platform for networking and collaboration. It was clear that the appetite for innovation is strong and that Staffordshire is ready to embrace the future.

Feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive. Attendees appreciated the hands-on format, the approachable tone of the presentations and the opportunity to ask questions in a supportive environment.

Given the success of this inaugural event, we’re planning to deliver further AI events in the future.  The topic of Artificial Intelligence is topical but one that is also moving at a very rapid pace.

Whether you’re an AI enthusiast, a cautious observer, or just starting to explore what’s possible, we invite you to be a part of this journey.  The planning of future AI events will be co-ordinated through our Artificial Intelligence Working Group (AIWG).  The AIWG is open to all businesses in Staffordshire, so why not be a part of that journey and help us to shape the best possible delivery of future AI events.
