Alice Charity has been announced as a finalist for the Responsible Business of the Year Award at the 2026 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards, sponsored by Rydale Roofing.

Operating in one of England’s most deprived cities, Alice Charity supports children and families across Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme through crisis intervention, home-based family support and early years development. In 2025, the charity supported 9,874 children, provided 11,880 meals, delivered 7,691 Christmas gifts to 2,080 children, and supplied over 1,400 clothing items alongside 185 essential items including cots and beds.

Turnover grew from £365,000 in 2024 to £528,000 in 2025, with the organisation shifting from a predominantly grant-funded model to a more diversified income base. A team of 14 staff, supported by 21 volunteers who contributed 4,734 hours last year, delivers the full programme. The charity also hosted the inaugural Hands of Hope Awards, bringing 164 people together to celebrate voluntary sector contribution across the region.

Behind every number in their application is a child or family whose life has been made safer, warmer or more hopeful because of the work this organisation does every single day. The winners will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Thursday 9 July 2026, followed by The After Party, a late-night celebration for finalists, winners and partners.
