Stafford Engineering Services has been announced as a finalist for the Manufacturer of the Year Award at the 2026 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards, sponsored by Indurent.
When Staffordshire’s Allsobrook family spotted a gap in the market for precision-engineered medical device mounts, few would have predicted it would lead to a worldwide sole supplier agreement with one of the world’s leading defibrillator manufacturers. That is where Stafford Engineering Services finds itself today, after a 2024 tender win with Queensland Ambulance Service in Australia produced an order of 2,500 units, tripled production capacity, and opened the door to a global partnership with Zoll Medical.
Turnover doubled from £700,000 in 2024 to £1.4m in 2025, with profits rising 363%. Projected turnover for 2026 is £2m. A purpose-built facility with solar capability is planned, and an apprenticeship programme with South Staffordshire College is in development to support the next stage of growth.
Stuart Elford, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “Stafford Engineering Services is a fantastic Staffordshire success story. A family business that identified a gap, backed themselves, and has ended up as a worldwide sole supplier to one of the biggest names in emergency medicine. The growth they have achieved in a short space of time is remarkable, and we are thrilled to see them recognised among the very best manufacturers in the region.”
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Thursday 9 July 2026, followed by The After Party, a late-night celebration for finalists, winners and partners.
