Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce confirms new President.

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce has confirmed Ramona Hirschi as its new President.

A solicitor turned property entrepreneur who recently completed the sale of her Belvoir Stoke business, Ramona moves up from Deputy presidency at an exciting time for the organisation.

She takes the reins from Steve Timmis, Managing Director of Sempar Accountancy & Tax, who took on the presidency in December 2023, overseeing a period of significant change at the Chamber, including the appointment of a new Chief Executive.

Steve said: “I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved during my time as President. I leave knowing the Chamber is in great shape, with a strong board and excellent members. Ramona has the opportunity to do this her way and I wish her every success.

“There is so much to look forward to, from Let’s Do Business to the Chamber Business Awards, and I cannot wait to watch the Chamber continue to develop.”

The Board has now begun the process of appointing a new Deputy President to work alongside Ramona.

Ramona said: “I want to thank Steve for his support and guidance during my time as Deputy President.

“Steve leaves the organisation in a strong position and I am grateful for that foundation. I am looking forward to getting stuck in and working closely with Stuart and the board to support businesses across Staffordshire.”

Stuart Elford, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, paid tribute to the outgoing President. He said: “Although we have only known each other a short time, it is clear the impact Steve has had on the Chamber.

“I know the board and wider membership will join me in thanking him for his dedication and for leaving the organisation in a better place than he found it. I look forward to working closely with Ramona as she begins her presidency.”

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce represents businesses across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, with a Board of 13 elected representatives responsible for ensuring the organisation is well run.

The President, Deputy President and Treasurer serve as its three non-executive officers.
