Environmental Essentials has been announced as a finalist for the Medium/Large Business of the Year Award at the 2026 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards, sponsored by Dains Accountants.
From its Newcastle-under-Lyme base, Environmental Essentials has built one of the UK’s most comprehensive testing, inspection and compliance businesses over 22 years. Since 2023, a buy-and-build strategy has delivered four acquisitions in rapid succession, adding water hygiene, air hygiene, health and safety consultancy and North East asbestos coverage to its existing offer. Turnover grew from £11.3m in 2024 to £14m in 2025, with further acquisitions already in the pipeline.
The 191-strong business serves clients including the Houses of Parliament, the University of Oxford and Marks and Spencer. Quality Manager Rachel Rushton sits on the Management Committee of the National Organisation of Asbestos Consultants and contributes to the HSE’s Fibre Proficiency and Testing Steering Committee, reflecting an organisation actively shaping its sector as well as growing within it.
Stuart Elford, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “Environmental Essentials has executed a genuinely impressive growth strategy, expanding its capability and geographic reach through four well-targeted acquisitions while maintaining the professional standards that underpin everything they do. The fact that their team is actively shaping national policy in their sector is the clearest possible signal of how seriously they take their responsibilities. We are pleased to welcome them as a finalist.”
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Thursday 9 July 2026, followed by The After Party, a late-night celebration for finalists, winners and partners.
