Broxap has been announced as a finalist for the Sustainability & Environment Award at the 2026 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards, sponsored by Capula.
Trading for 80 years and still family-owned, Broxap is a Staffordshire manufacturer of street furniture and outdoor structures whose sustainability credentials go well beyond compliance. The measurable achievements are substantial: 30,000 litres of hazardous waste eliminated through the proprietary PROTEX powder coating system, a one-third reduction in energy consumption from modern fibre laser machinery, 5 tonnes of VOC emissions cut annually, and a 50% reduction in water use. The entire operation is zero waste to landfill, runs on 100% REGO-backed renewable energy, and holds ISO 14001 certification.
Recent acquisitions of Turvec Solutions and Townscape Products in 2025 consolidated Broxap’s position as the UK’s leading street furniture manufacturer, with turnover growing from £35m to £40m and a Net Zero target set for 2032.
Stuart Elford, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “Broxap has been part of Staffordshire’s business landscape for 80 years and has used that longevity to build something genuinely admirable on sustainability. Eliminating 30,000 litres of hazardous waste, cutting energy by a third, zero waste to landfill and a Net Zero target for 2032. These are not aspirations; they are achievements. A family business doing things the right way for eight decades deserves recognition, and we are very pleased to have them as a finalist.”
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Thursday 9 July 2026, followed by The After Party, a late-night celebration for finalists, winners and partners.
