AVD Fire Limited has been announced as a finalist for the International Trade Award at the 2026 Staffordshire Chambers Business Awards, sponsored by Welfare Vans4less.
Born out of a critical gap in global fire safety, AVD Fire Limited has developed a world-first response to one of the fastest-growing hazards in modern technology. The Staffordshire manufacturer’s proprietary Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion technology is now sold in 42 countries, protecting everything from residential homes to military platforms. Sales have increased by 67% over two years, with exports now accounting for 88% of turnover following expansion into six new regions in 2025 alone.
Clients include the Dubai Metro, Dubai International Airport and Rheinmetall Defence, with the company now engaged with the UK Ministry of Defence and NATO partners. A forward order book projecting growth from £2.5 million to over £10 million signals a business with significant momentum behind it.
Stuart Elford, Chief Executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “AVD Fire has taken a technology developed in Staffordshire and turned it into a global fire safety standard. Forty-two countries, 88% of turnover from exports, clients including NATO partners and two of the world’s busiest airports, and a forward order book that points to substantial further growth. This is exactly the kind of internationally ambitious Staffordshire business this award exists to celebrate.”
The winners will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Thursday 9 July 2026, followed by The After Party, a late-night celebration for finalists, winners and partners.
