Kickstart Scheme

The Kickstart Scheme was announced in July as part of the Chancellor’s Plan for Jobs. The scheme aims to create thousands of high-quality six-month work placements for young people aged 16 to 24 who are claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long term unemployment.

Under the scheme, the Government will cover 100 per cent of employment costs for 25 hours a week. This includes the employee's salary at the appropriate minimum wage for their age, as well as National Insurance and pension contributions.

Call us on 01782 202222 or contact membership@staffordshirechambers.co.uk to register your interest.

Support

Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce will then contact you to discuss the placements you have to offer and will work with you to create a job description and advertisement.

Interview

You'll then get the opportunity to meet your candidates and interview them to makes sure you get the right fit for you.

Recruit

Once you are ready to make a decision, you'll recruit your preferred candidate and meet your Kickstart coach who will support you and your employee throughout the placement.
